Bruce Willis

Musician and actor Bruce Willis is well known for playing wisecracking or hard-edged characters, typically in spectacular action films. Together, they've been featured in movies that have grossed more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German-born actor was born in Idar–Oberstein, West Germany on March 19 1955 to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey) who resided on a military base in the United States. His family moved to U.S. shortly after he was born, and he was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey, where his mother worked as a bank clerk, and his father worked as a welder and factory worker. Willis began to show an interest in the drama arts while in high school. He was "discovered" during his time working at the cafe in a New York City cafe. Later, he appeared on numerous off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night the bartender was noticed by an acting director who liked his character and was looking for bartenders for a minor film part. Willis auditioned for a variety of film roles, but he was not credited. He ultimately got the role as David Addison, a private eye, alongside Cybill Shepherd in the romantic comedy show Moonlighting (1985). His humorous, wisecracking P.I. is one of the highlights of his career. Some view it as an opportunity to practice to test Willis as McClane in Die Hard (1988), in which he fought the gang of thieves in a Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die Hard 2 (1990), he reprised the character. The group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers is trying to bring back a corrupt South American general. They are located in Washington's Dulles International Airport. The success of the film at the box office prompted an additional sequel, Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) which, this time with co-star Samuel L. Jackson as the sly Harlem shop owner unwittingly thrust into supporting McClane in the aftermath of a terrorist bombing campaign in the midst of a hot summer day in New York.
