Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Sparrow was born in McComb (Mississippi) on December 2, 1981 and moved to Kentwood (Louisiana). Britney was the first dancer of her age and won many competitions in gymnastics. But, most of all, Britney loved to sing. Britney was a candidate for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) at age eight. She was rejected due to her young age. Britney was then recommended to the off-Broadway musical "Ruthless" where she played in the title role for two years. When she was 11 years old, she was back on stage to be a part of The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989). This time, she played one of the mouseketeers along with others of the stars of today, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez (*NSYNC) and Ryan Gosling. Her big break, however, was when she was signed as an artist with Jive Records in the latter part of the 90s. Britney was a huge hit after the release of her debut album "...Baby one more time" in 1999. She sold 13 million copies (as of July 2001) and her second album "Oops !...I did it Again" which was released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears & Jamie Spears and she has a large brother named Bryan Spears & a little sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney was born to be famous from a young age. Britney loved singing and was inspired by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) when she was eight. But she was not old enough to be accepted. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved to New York where she starred in a number of TV ads and in an off-Broadway production, "Ruthless", where she was understudy with Natalie Portman. She discovered her love of dancing and music two years later, when she auditioned once more for "Mickey Mouse" and was able to win the role with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
