Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was conceived on
November 17, 1978 in London (Ontario, Canada) to Sandra Kay (Gale), who works
as a nurse as well as Lance Frederick McAdams who is a truck driver and
furniture mover. She is Englishand is Welsh-, Irish-, and Scottish. Rachel
began her acting career in her teens and by the age of 13 was appearing in
Shakespearean productions at summer theatre camp; she graduated with honors ,
earning a BFA degree in Theater from York University. After her first
appearance on TV in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson in 1998, Rachel appeared
in Canadian television's Slings and Arrows 2003. This comedy-drama is about the
struggle of Shakespearean theater groups. The actress was awarded an award
called the Gemini Award for her performance in 2003. The role she played in
Mean Girls (2004) as Regina George instantly landed her in the top tier of
Hollywood's list of promising young actors. In the following film, she was cast
opposite Ryan Gosling in The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was a big hit at the
box office, and soon became the most popular romantic drama for the new
generation of filmgoers. Following filming, McAdams and Gosling became
romantically involved and dated through the middle of 2007. McAdams is next in
film with the comedy Wedding Crashers (2006), the thriller Red Eye (2004), as
well as the holiday-themed drama The Family Stone ((2005)). McAdams also
explored independent cinema with Married Life (2007) which was premiered at the
Toronto Film Festival. It also featured Pierce Brosnan and Chris Cooper and
Patricia Clarkson. McAdams was also seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of
Play (2008) and State of Play (2008), respectively. McAdams also appeared in
The Time Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international
hit Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the shrewd producer of Morning Glory
(2010). She also played the materialistic fiancee Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s
Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama in The Vow (2012),
which she co-starred with Channing Tatum. McAdams also appears alongside
Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012) and Noomi Rapace plays Passion (2012)
in Brian De Palma’s thriller.
